I’ve been thinking about what would make this fun for me if I were the reader. I love getting things in the mail. I don’t mean bills, or the packages I get when I order online. Fun things, like letters you get from actual people you know or when you order something and there is a bonus added so that there is still some element of surprise involved.

In addition to making this as fun for you as it possibly can be, I want to make sure that I don’t let any of the artistic mediums I enjoy get lost in the abyss of things I think that I’ll find time to get to later.

We should have a contest!! I’ll need a little time to work out all of the details. But starting in May (2025) I want to give away one block print each month to a reader. It will be something small so that it can remain within the weight and dimensions allowed for inexpensively shipping world wide. This way, readers anywhere can enter and win the contest.

Cartoon bunny (Bunny81 Logo) printed in white ink on a black t-shirt
Rooster linocut printed in black ink on white paper next to the carved linoleum block
Black mouse printed on white paper
Whimsical carving of an egret standing in water. The image printed on black ink is on the left and the carved EasyCarve Block is on the right.

Above is a little gallery of linocuts I’ve made and printed this year. Now you can see a bit more of my style. I haven’t decided on the May image, so if you have any hopes or requests, let me know! I would love to hear your ideas about both the image and what I should print it on.

One important thing before I go : starting with the next blog post, I’m going to include a keyword or phrase To be eligible as the monthly winner, you need to include the phrase in your entry correspondence. I’ll only include the phrase in one entry per month. I’ll select a new winner at the beginning of each month and contact them to arrange for the delivery. After a winner is selected, the phrase from the previous month will no longer be valid.

I’ll make another post about this later when I’ve decided on the official rules. But I was very excited about the idea of this contest so I thought you would like it too.

Until next time, all the best wishes!
